HR Generalist-Talent Acquisition

Job Description

Job Summary:


Supports business operations and is responsible for aspects of Human Resources management and administration including but not limited to recruitment, affirmative action, onboarding, Human Resources Information System (HRIS) administration, training, and employment equity programs. In addition to owning and facilitating recruitment responsibilities, supports all other Human Resources disciplines as required and needed.


Essential Functions:



  • Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all company personnel; assists in development and implementation of policies and procedures. Participates in developing departmental goals, objective, and systems.

  • Drives the recruitment effort for exempt and nonexempt personnel, internal and external job posting administration; attend job fairs and user groups to promote IFA.

  • Conducts thorough front line screening of candidates, schedules interviews and works with managers to continually evaluate candidate requirements for positions within the company as they arise.

  • Accurately articulates the company culture and benefits to candidates in order to promote the IFA brand.

  • Negotiates offers with successful candidates in accordance with company guidelines.

  • Administers onboarding process including new employee "paperwork" and coordinates new-employee orientations.

  • Tracks and completes E-verify reporting within the reporting time limit for new hire.

  • Administers affirmative action program; files EEO-1 and VETS 4212 report annually, maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations.

  • Remains abreast of, communicates and ensures compliance with equal employment opportunity practices throughout the company.

  • Primary liaison to staffing agencies; ensures compliance with company headcount requirements.

  • Ensures and monitors pre-employment requirements; background investigations and pre-employment/post offer physical and drug screens.

  • Evaluates job descriptions and rewrites as necessary; participates in annual salary surveys.

  • Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.

  • Supports all employees through direct contact and timely and effective responses to needs and issues.

  • Full contributor to company events including picnics, luncheons, wellness programs, open enrollment, etc.

  • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.

  • All employees are responsible for having an awareness and understanding of IFA's commitment to ISO 14001, TS16949 and our commitment to a safe working environment.

  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.


Education:



  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field or equivalent
    combination of education and experience.

  • PHR/SHRM-CP or SPHR/SHRM-SCP certification, preferred.


Experience:



  • Minimum three (3) to five (5) years of experience in Human Resources, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

  • PHR/SHRM-CP or SPHR/SHRM-SCP certification, preferred.


Specific Skills:



  • Demonstrated knowledge of HR core competencies including recruitment, payroll, onboarding, and employment law and benefits administration.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Human Resources, Applicant Tracking systems is required.

  • Knowledge of state/federal employment law, employee benefits programs, employee relations and safety/liability issues to include but not limited to COBRA, ERISA, FMLA, FLSA, EEO, Title VII, ADA and OSHA is required.

  • Experience handling sensitive employee relations matters, performance management, conducting exit interviews, recruiting, staffing, policy, procedure, process development.

  • Must possess the skill to approach others in a tactful manner, react well under pressure and treat others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position within the company.

  • Ability to maintain confidential information.

  • Ability to manage several projects and tasks simultaneously.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office including World, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher and Excel is required.

  • Ability to work dynamic and fast paced environment; ability to prioritize and work independently.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule in coordination with other members of the HR department to ensure coverage is met on all shifts, as required.

  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills

  • Ability to manage several projects and tasks simultaneously.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office including World, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel is required

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
